ARE you a singer looking for a choir to join?
The South London Singers, Beckenham's friendly chamber choir, welcomes all applications for membership.
Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from early or mid-September to June at 7.45pm in the upstairs hall at Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road, Beckenham.

Prospective new members are asked to meet the Director for a brief voice test, usually by their third rehearsal. Currently the choir has vacancies in all voices but particularly for sopranos and tenors. Choral experience and the ability to read music are of course welcome, but by no means essential, the main thing being enthusiasm for singing good music well.
Our rehearsal venue at Beckenham Methodist Church is on several bus routes and is just a few minutes from Beckenham Junction railway station and Tramlink terminus, enabling easy access from London Victoria, Bromley, Orpington, Croydon and the surrounding area.
Annual Subscription. The standard subscription is currently £150 per annum, and payment can be spread over three terms with the agreement of the Treasurer.
This busy, friendly choir performs three or four concerts a year in various local venues, including the Beckenham Methodist Church and St. George's Church, Beckenham's Anglican parish church. Other Beckenham venues include St Paul's Church, Brackley Road, and Christ Church, Fairfield Road. The SLS also occasionally appears outside the Bromley borough, notably in Blackheath Concert Halls. The choir presents a broadly-based repertoire at all these venues (see our Repertoire page for more information on the kinds of music we perform),
Members of the choir are invited to meet socially, in a local hostelry, after the rehearsal. In addition, organised social events featuree strongly in our calendar and have included parties, summer barbecues, informal madrigal singing, quiz nights and country walks.
